Membership Information
- The membership year begins the September 1st and runs until August 31st of the following year.
- Full membership is open to qualified radio amateurs holding an amateur radio call sign.
- Associate membership is open to radio amateurs enthusiasts not yet qualified to hold an amateur radio call sign.
- Membership in the OVMRC includes a digital subscription to Club newsletter called the “Rambler".
- By submitting this application, you consent to receiving e-mail messages from members of the Club’s executive committee.

Terms and Fees for Membership in the Ottawa Valley Mobile Radio Club (OVMRC)
1. The OVMRC subscribes to the Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) Affiliated Club Program. In doing so, the Club participates in the RAC Affiliated Club Insurance Program that protects the Club against liability claims arising from accidents or damage incurred during normal club activities. RAC assesses Clubs an $11 surcharge to the premium for Club insurance for every Full Club member that is not a RAC member. For this reason, the cost of membership for full membership in the OVMRC is dependent on active membership in RAC. ($25 for RAC member, $35 if not)
2. For new members to the Club that are newly qualified radio amateurs, it will be assumed they have applied for Radio Amateurs of Canada membership offered by the organization, free of charge for the first year as a new radio amateur; therefore for new radio amateur applicants seeking OVMRC membership, the fee will be $25 for the first year and thereafter if RAC membership is maintained.
3. New membership application to the OVMRC after January 1st and before September 1st of the same year will have their membership extended to August 31st of the following year. This does not apply to late membership renewal.
4. Associate members that become qualified radio amateurs automatically obtain Full Membership status in the OVMRC without additional cost for the duration of their annual membership term.
5. New and annual membership renewal fees can be made directly to the Club by Interac E Transfer to: ovmrc.e.xfer@gmail.com together with sending this application separately to the Club’s Treasurer and membership chairperson, Nicole Boivin, VE3GIQ by email attachment to: VE3GIQ@myrac.ca Simple renewals with no-change to member’s information can indicate a note with Interac email electronic money transfer “Membership Renewal – No Change” and sending the application form will not be necessary.
6. Membership renewal is necessary to take advantage of Club prizes and awards, the coax bulk procurement program and training. Renewals not made before January 1st will be dropped from club outgoing emails.
7. Information collected by this membership application is strictly for the purposes of recording membership status, status of membership in Radio Amateurs of Canada (RAC) for Club insurance purposes, tailoring of Club activities to the interests of the membership and sending information out to Club member by email or otherwise. Personal information is not divulged to any third party except as may be required by Canadian Law and/or the maintenance of insurance with RAC. Group emailing (en masse) to the membership of the OVMRC will be carried out by blind-carbon-copy (bcc) that conceals recipients individual email addresses from the rest.
