The OVMRC will be staging a transmitter location exercise between 24 and 31 Jan 2018.

The Transmitter

2 metre, 15 mW beacon transmitter, to be hidden somewhere in Central Ottawa.

Frequency Set to: 147. 585 MHz FM with MCW ID

Objective:

To determine and report the address or approximate location of a beacon transmitter.

Method:

By driving around or by using directional antennas with or without triangulation techniques.

When:

The transmitter will be On-Air between Jan 24th to Jan 31st.

Send your findings to Norm at VE3LC@rac.ca; any emails received will be reported at the February 21st meeting of the OVMRC. Certificates will be issued to folks that give the correct location of the hidden beacon transmitter within a radius of 500 metres.
